Reading the Metro this morning, a small blurb on page 5 caught my attention. Next to, funnily enough, another burger related story on McDonald's filing suit against a Swedish strip club called McDragan's whose logo of their "golden knockers" (I know, it is clear that in this case real life is indeed stranger, or at least more entertaining, than fiction) looks a little bit too much like the golden arches, was a story on Phil Hansen who made an recreation of the Mona Lisa using hamburgers, or more accurately burger grease. Hired by Arby's, Hansen's work is an advertisement for the fast-food purveyor, clearly to show the audience that other fast food sandwiches are greasy enough not only to clog your arteries and make your stomach turn, but to create a large piece of art out of the burger stains as well. Check out the YouTube video of Hansen creating his grease soaked masterpiece here.
I have to say, after watching that video more than once, I'm starting to lose my appetite. As much as I clearly lust after cheeseburgers, even I think the idea of all that grease is pretty disgusting.
